Velika Račna is a village in the Grosuplje municipality in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local parish church, built on the Kopanj hill to the north of the settlement with the parish also known as Kopanj parish, is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ljubljana. It dates to the 15th century with 18th and 19th century additions.[3]
